1. How big is the online photo printing market in India? Any stats?
Not very sure of the numbers. Read sometime ago I read that over 0.8 million digital cameras were sold in India. Assuming even 50% of the photos get printed online, we are looking at a market that is worth at least Rs. 40-50 crore. This includes the NRIs who utilise services from elsewhere. I expect a growth rate of 60-70%
2. How well is MeraSnap doing so far?
Pretty good. MeraSnap.com is one among the top three sites favoured by Indian digital camera users in the world. Actually the response is way beyond our expectations.
3. What are the different marketing strategies that MeraSnap is using?
Great customer service. Thats the only thing.
4. You've got a bunch of competition from a lot of players (eYaadein, RangeelaPhotos, PicSquare, PhotoMasti, 123shots) in this field? How do you position yourself against all these companies?
Well, we understand the unique sensibilities of the Indian customer. The entire MeraSnap experience is geared to satisfy that unique sensibility. Specifically, we specialise in print and delivery of photos ONLY. Nothing else.
5. Sources of funding so far? Have you been talking to VCs, investors etc. What is their reaction?
Yes, lot of VCs have shown interest. It's a question of valuation though.
6. What is the kind of exit you are looking forward to for this company and when?
Well, lets see! Very premature to think of exit at this point.
